Live from camp: Wisdom from the pros

Yesterday, the fifth day of camp, we started writing using the interviews about ourselves. Later Shane Kitzman, a sports reporter from WCCO came. It was super cool. He told us that journalist have to have experience in all types of fields.

Afterwards, he did a Q&A and joined us for lunch. During lunch, we talked to him about his experience at WCCO. One of the things that we talked about was TMZ. He told us about the difference between real journalism and entertainers like Rush Limbaugh. Some journalists try to actually tell the story and some just try to entertain others. Unfortunately, his time was cut short when he had to leave early for an appointment.

After lunch, we headed back to the O’Shaughnessy Education Center where we continued the rest of our day. Once we returned to room 312, we resumed working on our self-interview report. In my report, I interviewed people about how they viewed me at first sight. After sitting at a computer for most of the day, the other students and I were restless. We learned a lot during the fifth day of camp.
